Pressing the Shutter Button
The shutter button features a two-stage action.
Pressing Halfway
Pressing halfway automatically sets the
exposure, focus and white balance. When
metering is complete, two beeps sound and
the indicator shines green. When the flash is
on, the indicator shines orange. If the indicator
is flashing orange, it warns of possible camera
shake or low light. In macro or manual focus
mode, the yellow indicator will also shine.
Pressing Fully
You will hear the sound of the shutter close
(shutter sound) when the shot is complete.
Do not move the camera until it sounds. The
indicator will flash green while the image is still
recording onto the CF card. When the flashing
orange indicator warns of camera shake or low
light, you can still take the shot by pressing the
shutter button fully.
Images are first saved into the cameras internal memory before being recorded
onto the CF card, allowing the next images to be taken immediately as long as
sufficient space is available in the internal memory.
The beep and shutter sound can be set On / Off in the Set up menu (p. 104).
When the shutter sound is set to Off, but the beep is set to On, one beep will
sound when the shutter button is fully pressed.
There is no shutter sound in movie mode.
