Recompose the image and press the
shutter button halfway again to reset
the focus.
Confirm that the indicator beside the
viewfinder shines orange.

Press the shutter button all the way to
shoot the image.
As the example to the left shows, a backlit
subject can be shot at the correct exposure if
the FE lock is set when the camera is aimed at
a non-backlit portion of the subject.
This setting cannot be adjusted in the , , , , , , , and
shooting modes.
The FE Lock only functions with the built-in flash or a Canon EX-series Speedlite (p. 108).
