Cleaning the Pick roller set, Feed rollers
1. Open the ADF while pushing the ADF button. If you open the ADF when the indication of the Function No. display is "P" or "0", the
Pick roller set and Feed rollers do not rotate even you operate the scanner as step 2 below. So open the ADF when the indication is
not "P" or "0".
2. Hold down both the "Send to" and "Scan" buttons on the operator panel. The Pick roller set and Feed rollers start rotate a little. For
details on locations of the "Send to" and "Scan" buttons, refer to "
1.2 Functions of the operator panel".
3. Hold lint-free dry cloth moistened with the Cleaner F1 against the rotating rollers so that it lightly cleans the surfaces of the rotating
rollers. Take particular care in cleaning these rollers as black debris on them adversely affects the pickup performance. As a guideline,
seven presses of the "Send to" and "Scan" buttons rotate the Pick roller set and Feed rollers one full turn.
CAUTION
-Be careful not to pinch your fingers with the ADF cover.
-The glass surface inside the ADF becomes hot during the operation of the scanner.
