the camera automatically switches to long time exposure below
a particular brightness threshold. When the shutter release but-
ton is pressed halfway,
B
is then also displayed in the data panel
(19). At maximum aperture (2.4), the shutter then remains open
for as long as the shutter release button is held down, up to a max
-
imum of 99s. During the exposure, the frame counter times the
exposure in seconds.
Warning: When the camera switches to this function in the
various modes, the exposure metering active previously is deac-
tivated at the same time. Therefore, a number of shots with
various exposure lengths are recommended to allow a selection
to be made afterwards.
Note: The pocket-sized LEICA Mini Tripod (Order No.14320) and
the LEICA Electric Cable Release (Order No. 18 540) are highly
recommended as accessories when taking photographs with
long exposure times.
