and the AF assist lamp

6Use the right Manual focus for
the distance.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
1The flash mode was set
to the Fill-in flash mode.
2The subject was
excessively illuminated.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1Select a flash mode other
than the Fill-in flash mode.
2Use spot metering. Adjust the
exposure compensation or
change the camera position
toward the subject.

The picture is too dark.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
1The flash was blocked
by a finger.
2The subject was out of
the working range of the
flash.
3The flash mode was set
to the Off mode.
4The subject was too
small and was backlit.
5The Sequence mode
was used.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1Hold the camera correctly,
keeping your fingers away
from the flash.
2Shoot within the flash working
range. Or, use an external
flash.
3Check the flash mode before
shooting.
4Set the flash to Fill-In mode.
Or, use the Spot metering
mode.
5Higher shutter speeds are
used when the Sequence
mode is selected which may
result in pictures that are
darker than usual.
