Taking Still Pictures
c
In this mode, you can set the aperture manually. The camera
automatically sets the shutter speed to obtain the optimal exposure at
the aperture value you have chosen. Decreasing the aperture value will
produce a picture with a blurred background. Increasing the value will
produce a picture in which both the foreground and the background are
in focus. Use this function when you want to intentionally change the
focusing range (depth of field).
1 Set the mode dial to c.
2 Use the four-way controller (23)
to change the aperture value.
Pressing 2 increases the aperture and
pressing 3 reduces the aperture.
3 Press the shutter release button
halfway.
The camera adjusts the shutter speed accordingly.
If the appropriate exposure cannot be obtained, the shutter speed
displayed on the LCD monitor turns orange.
The focus frame turns green if the subject is in focus.
4 Press the shutter release button fully.
The picture is taken.
Aperture Priority Shooting
Total recording time will be longer when the picture is taken at a
slower shutter speed, because the noise reduction function
activates to reduce noise.
