Zooming
The motorized zoom lens allows you to zoom in and out for close ups or
wide-angle shots just by sliding the power zoom lever on the camcorder.
To Zoom In and Out
Optical zooming allows you to zoom in
and out up to 14X.
• To move the lens in the telephoto
(close-up) direction, slide the power
zoom lever toward T.
• To move the lens in the wide angle
direction, slide the lever toward W.
• The zoom level indicator appears in the
viewfinder or on the LCD monitor.
Note: If you are trying to zoom in very close
to a subject and the camcorder zooms out, try
using Tele Macro zooming. See page 41.

Digital Zooming
Digital zooming doubles the maximum
14X normal optical zooming. The zoom
indicator does not operate during digital
zooming.
Zoom speed varies according to how far
you zoom in or out.
Notes: You may need to focus manually
during digital zooming. Zoom in, adjust the
focus manually or use focus lock, and then
zoom in or out.
The quality of the image may not be as good
in digital zooming as optical zooming.
