Metering
If exposure conditions are not ideal, changing the metering method
can result in brighter pictures.
[Multi] ( ) : Exposure is calculated
based on an average of
the available light in the
image area. However, the
calculation will be biased
towards the center of the
image area. This is suitable
for general use.
[Spot] ( ) :
Only the rectangular area in the center of the LCD screen
is metered for light. This is suitable when the subject in
the center is exposed correctly, regardless of the back
lighting.
[Center-wei ghted] ( )
:
Exposure is calculated based on an average of the avail-
able light in the image area. However, the calculation is
biased towards the center of the image area. This is suit-
able for taking a picture of small object such as owers or
insects.
Ä
If the subject is not in the center of the focus area, do not use
spot metering as this may result in an exposure error.
Use exposure compensation instead. See page 35.
Drive mode
You can select continuous shot and AEB (Auto Exposure Bracketing).
[Single] ( ) : Takes one picture only.
[Continuous] (
) : Takes pictures
continuously until you
release the shutter
button.
[High-speed] ( )

speed may get slower depending on the shoot-
ing environment or the number of shots. (Up to
3M Size)
[Motion Capture] ( )
:
Takes 10 shots per second when you press and
hold the shutter button. After you’ve completed
continuous shooting, the camera saves the
images and plays them back on the Rear LCD.
The maximum number of shots is 30 and the
image size is xed as 1024X768.
[AEB] ( ) :
Takes three consecutive photos using different
exposure values. Use this mode if it is hard to
decide what exposure to use for a shot.
