IMPORTANT!
• If your computer is running Windows 98, install the
Windows 98 WMP6.4 codec instead of Windows Media
Player 9.
• In the case of Windows 2000 or 98SE, you need to install
Microsoft DirectX 9.0c. For information about determining
the version of Microsoft DirectX on your PC, see page 225.
• Note the following important precautions when playing
back a movie from a memory card using Windows Media
Player 9.
– When using a high-speed type memory card
Try using Windows Media Player as-is, without changing
its basic settings.
– When using a memory card that is not a high-speed type
Change Windows Media Player settings as described
below. These settings will enable more stable movie
display.

On the Windows Media Player “Tools” menu, select
“Options”. On the dialog box that appears, open the
“Performance” tab.

In the “Video acceleration” area, click “Advanced”.

In the “Video acceleration” area, clear the “Use video
mixing renderer” check box.

In the “Legacy video renderer” area, clear the “Use
YUV Flipping” check box.
■ Minimum Computer System Requirements
for Movie Playback
The minimum system requirements described below are
necessary to play back movies recorded with this camera on a
Windows computer.

• The above is the recommended environment. Configuring
this environment does not guarantee proper operation.
• Even if your computer meets the minimum requirements
described above, certain settings and other installed
software may interfere with proper playback of movies.
