C Changing the Language Setting, the Date and Time Setting, and the Menu
Background Setting
You can change the Language (E45), Date and time (E39), and Menu background
(E46) settings in the lcamera settings menu (A 84).
You can enable and disable daylight saving time by selecting Date and time (E39) in the l
camera settings menu. When enabled, the clock moves forward one hour; when disabled, the
clock moves back one hour.
If you exit without setting the date and time, O flashes when the shooting screen is displayed. If
still images are taken without setting the date and time, the shooting date and time are not
displayed during playback. Use the Date and time setting in the camera settings menu to set the
date and time (A84, E39).
C The Clock Battery
The camera’s clock is powered by an internal backup battery. The backup battery is charged when
the main battery is inserted into the camera or when the camera is connected to an optional AC
adapter, and can provide several days of backup power after about 10 hours of charging.
If the camera’s backup battery becomes exhausted, the date and time setting screen is displayed
when the camera is turned on. Set the date and time again. Step 3 of “Preparation 4 Set the
Display Language, Date, and Time” (A16)
C Imprinting the Shooting Date in Printed Images
Set the date and time before shooting.
You can permanently imprint the shooting date in images as they are captured by setting Print
date (E41) in the camera settings menu (A84).
If you want the shooting date to be printed without using the Print date setting, print using the
ViewNX 2 software (A70).
