Using the Built-in Flash
If you wish to discharge the ash in a dark or backlit location, press the ash button
( ) to pop up the ash. Select a [Flash] mode to suit your purpose from the Flash
options screen in the Fn menu. You can adjust the ash output with the rear dial
(
) in any Exposure mode other than Auto mode. The built-in ash is optimum
from about 0.7 m to 4 m from the subject. Exposure will not be properly controlled
and vignetting may occur when used at a distance closer than 0.7 m. This distance
varies slightly depending on the lens being used and set sensitivity).
Compatibility of built-in ash and lens
Vignetting (darkening of the corners of the image due to a lack of light) may occur
depending on the lens being used and the capture conditions. We recommend taking
a test shot to con rm this.
When using the built-in ash, remove the lens hood before shooting.
The built-in ash fully discharges for lenses without a function to set
aperture lens ring to A (Auto).
Auto Discharges the ash automatically in dark or backlit locations.
Fill-In
The built-in ash discharges manually. When the pop-up
ash is closed, the ash doesn’t discharge. When the ash is
opened, the ash will discharge.

Lights a red-eye reduction light before automatic ash.

Wireless Mode
Controls external ash(SEF-54PZF or SEF-36PZF) through
wireless connection and res the built-in ash as master. (or the
controller.)
Selecting Flash Mode
1. Press the Fn button.
- The Fn menu appears.
2. Press the direction button () on your
camera.
- The ash options screen appears.
3. Press the direction buttons (◄►) to select
[FLASH] mode.
- Pressing the green button ( ) resets the
exposure value if you have made the
exposure compensation to the ash.
4. Press the OK button twice.
- The camera returns to a capture mode.
