Exposure mode
This Capture menu option allows you
to override the automatic exposure
settings on the camera. The Exposure
Mode setting determines how the
camera selects the aperture and
shutter speed for the given scene
brightness.
The default Exposure Mode setting is Auto. The Exposure
Mode setting resets to Auto when you turn the camera off.
When you set Exposure Mode to Action, Landscape, or
Portrait, the ISO Speed menu option is grayed-out.
Icon Setting Description
None Auto Camera automatically selects an aperture
and shutter speed
Action Camera biases toward faster shutter
speeds and higher ISO speeds to stop
action
Landscape Camera biases toward smaller apertures
and lower ISO speeds for better depth of
focus and quality
Portrait Camera biases toward wider apertures to
blur the background and uses lower
contrast for professional-looking portraits
