The camera
does not
turn on
(continued).
If you are using
an optional
memory card,
it may be
corrupted or
functioning
improperly.
Remove the memory card and see
if you can turn on the camera. If
you can, then the problem is most
likely with the memory card.
Either attempt to format the
memory card (see Format
(Memory/Card) on page 79) or
replace the memory card.
The battery
gauge goes
up and down
frequently.
Different
operating
modes of the
camera require
different power
levels.
See
Battery Gauge on page 156
for a full explanation.
I have to
recharge the
lithium ion
battery
frequently.
Extended
Image Display
use for Live
View or video
recording,
excessive flash
use, and
excessive
zooming
consume a lot
of battery
power.
See
Extending Battery Life on
page 152.
The lithium ion
battery you are
using was
recharged
incorrectly.
A lithium ion battery is not fully
charged when new. A battery that
is new or has not been charged
recently must be recharged to
reach full capacity (see
Appendix
A: Managing Batteries on
page 151).
