Rotation Degree
Outputs the scanned image rotated to the right or left 90 degrees.
0.0 degree
Outputs the scanned image as is.
90.0 degree
Outputs the scanned image rotated 90 degrees to the right (clockwise).
-90.0 degree
Outputs the scanned image rotated 90 degrees to the left (counterclockwise).
180.0 degree
Outputs the scanned image rotated 180 degrees (top and bottom reversed).
Automatic
Detects the document orientation and corrects it automatically, if necessary.
* “Automatic” is not supported by some scanner models.
* “Automatic” determines a document orientation based on the characters printed on
the document, it may not work properly for the following kinds of documents:
- Documents with the resolution not between: 300dpi and 600dpi (in Black & White
mode) or 200dpi and 600dpi (in Color or Gray mode)
- Documents with many extremely large/small characters
- Documents on which the pitches of lines or characters are extremely narrow, or
characters are overlapped
- Documents with many photographs or figures and only a few characters
- Documents, such as drawings, on which characters are printed in various directions
- Documents written only in capital characters
- Handwritten documents
- Skewed documents
- Documents in languages other than supported languages (English, German, French,
Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese [Simplified/Traditional], Russian,
Portuguese)
- Documents with uneven colors, design and/or patterns in background
- Documents with intricate design
