Making/answering calls, intercom
Problem Cause & solution
Static is heard, sound
cuts in and out.
Interference from other
electrical units.
LMove this unit and the base unit away from other
electrical appliances (microwave, wireless LAN
appliances, etc.).
LMove closer to the base unit.
LRaise the base unit antennas.
LTurn on the clarity booster feature (page 20).
The unit does not ring. LThe ringer volume is turned off. Adjust it (page 42, 55).
LWhen printing (page 59), the unit does not ring until
Please wait” disappears from the display. To
answer a call, press {s}. The unit stops printing.
I cannot make a call. L The dialing mode may be set incorrectly. Change the
setting (page 49).
LThe base unit (including answering system) or handset
is in use. Try again later.
I cannot redial by
pressing {REDIAL}.
LIf the last number dialed was more than 48 digits long,
the number will not be redialed correctly. Dial the
number manually.
I cannot have a
conversation using the
headset.
LMake sure that a Panasonic optional headset is
connected properly (page 12).
I cannot make long
distance calls.
LMake sure that you have long distance service.
I cannot page the
handset or base unit.
LThe called handset is too far from the base unit.
LThe called unit is in use. Try again later.
I cannot turn the clarity
booster feature on.
LThe resources available for wireless communication
(making or answering calls with a handset, monitoring
camera images from a computer, etc.) are limited. Wait
for the other user to end the operation and try again.
The interrupt tones sound
while I am on an outside
call or on an intercom call
or monitoring a room.
LA call is being received. Press {OFF} to end the call or
stop monitoring, then answer the call.
