The Shooting Menu
Image Sharpening
The camera automatically processes pictures to em-
phasize the borders between light and dark areas
of the picture, making edges seem sharper.
Select from the following five options and press .
Image Sharpening Effects
Can not be previewed in the monitor. You can view the results in the playback mode.
Image Sharpening
Unless the setting is Auto, the image-sharpening icon ap-
pears in the monitor.
Press Button in (Auto shooting) mode to se-
lect Image sharpening ( 81), and then press .
Option Description
Auto
(default setting)
Camera sharpens edges for optimal results; amount
of sharpening varies from shot to shot.
High
Pictures processed to increase sharpness, making
edges more distinct.
Normal
Camera performs same standard level of sharpening
on all images.
Low
Sharpening reduced below normal level.
Off
No sharpening performed. Suitable for pictures that
will later be retouched on a computer.
