Connections for Playback on a TV
Although you can enjoy playback on the
camcorder’s LCD monitor, you can also play back
tapes on your TV screen.
Connection to TV Using the
Docking Station
1 Attach the camcorder to the Docking Station
(see page 8).
2 Connect the Docking Station to your TV with
the supplied audio/video cable.
3 Set the TV to its “AV” or “VIDEO” channel.
(See the operation manual for your TV.)
• If your TV has an S-video input connector,
connect it to the Docking Station’s S-VIDEO
connector with the supplied S-video cable.
Connections and Editing
Connection to TV Using a VCR
1 Connect the Docking Station to your VCR
with the supplied audio/video cable.
2 Set the VCR to its “LINE” or “VIDEO” input
channel. Operate the TV as you normally do
to see the signal from the VCR. (See the
operation manuals for your TV and VCR.)
• If your VCR has an S-video input connector,
connect it to the Docking Station’s S-VIDEO
connector with the supplied S-video cable.
Caution:
• Make sure that the camcorder, TV and other
equipment to be connected have been turned
off before you make connections. Making
connections with any of the components left
turned on may cause picture noise or
malfunction.
Note:
• When the camcorder is connected to a TV for
playback, the picture on the TV screen may
flicker if the volume on the camcorder is set to
maximum. Should this occur, turn the volume
down (see page 34).

About the S-video Connector
S-video connectors are used to pass the chroma
(color) and luminance (brightness) components of
video signals separately. They serve to improve
the picture quality in both recording and playback.
Note:
• When both the normal A/V cable and the
S-video cable are connected to the Docking
Station, video signals are output only through the
S-video cable. Do not connect the S-video cable
to the Docking Station if the video equipment to
be connected does not have an S-video
connector.
