Configuration: Encoder > Text Insertion
The Text Insertion feature is a hardware option for MPEG-2 encoders and requires a
separate daughter card. It lets you configure text messages that overlay the video stream
during encoding. The message you configure here will be displayed and refreshed as the
stream is decoded. You can configure blink style, refresh rate, transparency, and other
options. You can also create and enable five pre-configured messages.
SAP Port The receive IP port used to populate the Program Guide. This is
typically the port number of the encoder.
Note SAP information appears in the Program Guide field displayed in other VBrick
products, such as StreamPlayer and StreamPlayer Plus.
Refresh Interval 1–30 seconds. Specifies how often to repaint the text message.
Default = 10. Note that what appears as "flickering" may occur when
blinking is coincident with the refresh interval.
Blending Option 0–63. Specifies the opacity of the text. At 63 the text is solid (non-
transparent). Default = 63.
Line One line number for each message. You can save a maximum of five
different messages.
