Switches on the lamp in poor light to facilitate focusing.
• The AF Assist Lamp has an effective range of approx. 1.5m (5 feet).
Settings
[ON]
The lamp lights up in poor ambient light when the shutter button is pressed halfway
(
appears)
[OFF]
The lamp does not light up, regardless of the ambient light. (taking pictures of animals in
the dark, etc.)
Do not cover the lamp with your fingers or look at it from close range.
[Red-Eye Removal]

The setting is set to [OFF] except in the following Scene modes: [Portrait] [Soft Skin]
[Night Portrait] [Baby]
This mode automatically detects red-eye and corrects still picture data when recording
with the flash modes with red-eye reduction ( ).
Settings: [ON] / [OFF]
Depending on the circumstances, it may not be possible to correct red-eye.
When this function is set to [ON], the flash icon changes to [ ]/[ ].
This function only works when the camera detects a subject as a face.
