3 Slide the lens cover switch up.

The information in the IMPORTANT section (A 38) and NOTES section
(A 39) on the previous pages also apply to photos.
NOTES
Photos are recorded as JPG files. For details about the approximate
number of photos that can be recorded on a memory card, refer to the
Reference Tables
(A 189).
Photos cannot be recorded while fading in or fading out a scene.
AUTO Mode
mode is the camcorder’s default shooting mode. Using
mode, you can record great-looking movies and photos by letting the
camcorder adjust the necessary settings according to the recording
situation. In mode, most advanced settings will not be available
but you can use the following functions.
- Intelligent IS (A 43).
- Zoom (A 43).
- Video snapshot (A 71).
- Decoration (A 65) to add a fun personal touch using stamps,
drawings, image mix and more.
- Face detection and tracking (A 72) to get beautiful shots of people
every time, tracking the subject even if the person moves.
- Faders (A 74).
-Audio scenes (A 81).
-Pre-recording (A 144).
