Advanced shooting functions
Metering
There are three ways of measuring the brightness of a subject.
ESP Meters the center of the subject and the surrounding area
separately.
n Exposure is determined by metering within the AF target area.
In this mode, a subject can be shot with optimal exposure
regardless of the background light.
MULTI METERING Meters the brightness of the subject at up to 8 different points
to set the optimal exposure based on the average brightness.
This method is useful with a high contrast subject.

1 Position the AF target mark on
the area you want to meter and
press the [ button.
The multi-metering bar appears.
The brightness is metered at up to 8
different points. Brightness meter
readings are ignored after the 9th
reading.
To perform metering again, hold down
the [ button for more than 1 second
to display C. Press the [ button again to cancel the metering values.
