Taking close-up pictures
Recording Mode:
In [MACRO ZOOM], higher magnification results in lower picture quality.
When zoomed macro is specified, Extended Optical Zoom is disabled.
We recommend using a tripod, [SELFTIMER], or setting [FLASH] to [FORCED
FLASH OFF].
Moving the camera after aligning the focus is likely to result in poorly focused pictures if
subject is close to camera, due to margin for focus alignment being severely reduced.
The resolution outside the area in focus may be lower.
When you want to enlarge the subject, setting to [AF MACRO] (
) enables you to take
pictures at an even closer distance than the normal focus range (up to 10 cm (0.33 feet)
for max. W).

During [MACRO ZOOM] recording, the focus range is 10 cm (0.33 feet) to infinity,
regardless of the zoom position.
Taking pictures at even closer range [MACRO ZOOM]
To take even larger pictures of the subject, setting to [MACRO ZOOM] enables the
subject to appear even larger than when using [AF MACRO].

• You can also set by touching [MACRO
MODE] in the [REC] menu

• To cancel macro recording, touch [OFF].
• Touch [EXIT] to return to the original screen.
