(Touch AF Area Selection)
Recording Mode:
Corrects exposure when adequate exposure cannot be obtained (if difference between
brightness of object and background, etc.). Depending on the brightness, this may not be
possible in some cases.

in the [REC] menu

• If you are not going to use exposure
compensation, select 0.

After exposure adjustment, the adjustment value ( for example) is displayed in the
bottom-left corner of the screen.
●
The exposure compensation value you set is retained even after the camera is turned
off.
●
Exposure compensation cannot be used with the [STARRY SKY] Scene Mode.
You can adjust the focus to the place on the screen you touch.

Touch the subject
• When the subject is recognized, the AF area
is displayed and the camera focuses.
• If is touched, Touch AF Area Selection is
canceled.
• Focusing may not work if you touch the
edge of the screen.

Touch AF Area Selection may not be effective in the following cases.
• When the subject is too small • When the recording place is too dark
• When the subject is moving quickly
• When there are other subjects or a background of similar color as the subject
• When the camera is shaking • When using zoom

If Touch AF Area Selection fails, the AF area blinks red and then goes out. Try touching
the screen again.

If Touch AF Area Selection does not work, [AF MODE] will record with (1-area
focusing).
●
During [INTELLIGENT AUTO] Mode, the camera will determine the touched subject to
be the optimal scene.
●
Touch AF Area Selection will not work in the following cases.
• Scene Modes [STARRY SKY], [FIREWORKS]
• Motion Picture Recording Mode
