Using External Flash
([ EXTERNAL FLASH])
Available Shooting modes: All except
B, ,
Use this setting to use the external flash. The
synchronized shutter speed is up to 1/4000 sec.
ASelect [ON] in the menu (p.85).
BClose the built-in flash to attach the external flash to the
hot shoe of the camera, and tighten the locking screw.
CSelect Shooting mode. The mode can be set to N, M,
<, >, , or , however > is recommended.
DSet the external flash.
* The Illustration shows an external flash (commercially
available).
For an external flash, refer to the user’s manual for the
flash and specify the settings as described below.
Select external flash mode (TTL mode cannot be
used).
Match the settings to the camera aperture setting.
Set the flash for the aperture setting measured by the
camera.
Match the sensitivity setting (p.73) to the setting on
the camera.
