Using the Frame Guide
for Recording
Available in [, ], ;, ', ,, . or = mode
This function helps you decide on the size and
composition of the subject occupying the
screen.
1 Turn on the camera in the desired mode.
2 Press the MENU button until the menu
screen appears.
3 Press l or m to select “O” (“X” in =
mode), then press the SET button.
4 Press l or m to select “FRAME
GUIDE”, then press the SET button.
5 Press j, k, l or m to select the
desired frame guide, then press the SET
button.
6 Press the MENU button to turn off the
menu screen.
Types
Cross: A cross mark at the
center of the screen for
placing the subject at the
center.
Portrait: Frame fitting an
upper-body view.
Focus: Focus brackets for
guiding you to the focus
area.
Landscape: Grid lines
dividing the screen into 9
areas to help you with the
horizontal and vertical
composition.
Off: No frame guide
Snapshot: For capturing a
small group of friends in a
frame with surrounding
background.
