Manual Exposure
Control Mode
Use when your photographic objectives are not
met by AE settings and you want complete
control over exposure. Try various exposures
and see the difference in effect. Also, review
the captured image on the LCD screen before
you try another exposure.
Selectable shutter speeds
F2.0 to F6.7: 16s to 1/500s
F8 : 16s to 1/1000s
1 Set the Mode Dial to “,”,
then power on camera.
2 Set any desired menu items.
Note:
• The available mode is described below the
function title in each page. You can set the
functions indicated with “,” in that
description.
3 Press j or k to select the desired
shutter speed setting (1), and press l
or m to select the desired F-stop (2).
If the photograph would be under- or over-
exposed, the shutter speed and aperture
values in the status bar will display red. In
such case, select other combinations to
obtain an appropriate setting, which will
display the values in white.
If you set a slow shutter speed the image
taken could come out blurred. The shutter
speed and aperture values will display yellow
to alert you to this possibility.

4 Press the Shutter button half-
way down to focus on the
subject.
5 Press the Shutter button fully to
capture the image.
