6 Troubleshooting/Messages
This chapter provides the following:
procedures for clearing the document path,
information regarding document printing problems,
a message listing and the actions you can take to clear the message,
a problem solving chart and when to call Service.
Clearing the document
path
In the rare instance when a document becomes lodged in the transport,
the scanner stops running and a message appears on the Operator
Control Panel. The scanner will become disabled.
Documents can become lodged under conditions that could include (but
not limited to):
Documents are fed with excessive skew.
Documents are torn, badly folded or wrinkled.
Staples and paper clips are not removed.
Imaging guides are not installed properly.
Baffle plates are not firmly closed.
IMPORTANT: Use the green handles when accessing scanner
components.
Front cover access
1. Remove any visible documents from the elevator and output tray
areas.
2. Attempt to clear any other lodged documents by selecting the Jog
button.
