You can adjust the amount of light emitted by the flash without having to
change the brightness of the background.
1 Press the 3 button in Capture mode.
The [A Rec. Mode] menu appears.
2 Use the four-way controller (23)
to select [Flash Exp. Comp.].
3 Use the four-way controller (45)
to change the light emission.
To increase the light emission, set a positive
(+) value. To decrease the light emission,
set a negative (–) value.
When pressing the shutter release button
halfway in Capture mode, the flash icon
appears as j if a positive value has been set, and the flash icon
appears as k if a negative value has been set.
4 Press the shutter release button halfway.
The Flash Exp. Comp. setting is saved and the screen returns to
capture status. Refer to Step 6 of “How to Use the Menus” (p.43) for
other operations after the setting has been made.
