Install
the
microprocessor
and
power
module:
a.
Remove
the
microprocessor
baffle
from
the
microprocessor
socket.
Keep
the
microprocessor
baffle
for
future
use.
b.
Remove
the
protective
tape
covering
the
microprocessor
socket,
if
present.
Attention:
Inserting
the
microprocessor
in
a
locked
connector
might
damage
the
pins
and
cause
the
microprocessor
to
fail.
c.
Ensure
that
the
socket
lock
is
in
the
fully
unlocked
position
to
permit
plugging
in
the
microprocessor.
Use
the
hex
wrench
provided
with
the
microprocessor
option
to
open
the
lock,
if
necessary.
Note:
Examine
the
socket
lock
of
an
installed
microprocessor
to
identify
the
locking
flag
in
the
locked
position.

When
you
handle
static-sensitive
devices,
take
precautions
to
avoid
damage
from
static
electricity.

d.
Touch
the
static-protective
package
containing
the
microprocessor
to
any
unpainted
metal
surface
on
the
server.
Then,
remove
the
microprocessor
and
power
module
from
the
package.
