Using Exposure Compensation
With the mode dial set to P (Program mode), A (Aperture priority mode), or S (Shutter
priority mode), you can press the exposure compensation
button to manually increase
or decrease the exposure automatically selected by the camera in order to create a
darker or brighter image. If you want to shoot a white subject and make it bright, you can
also use exposure compensation to capture the image just as it appears. Exposure
compensation can be adjusted in the range of ±3EV in 1/3EV steps.

Set the mode dial to P, A, or S.

While pressing down the exposure
compensation
button, turn the
main dial or sub dial as shown in
the illustration.
The exposure compensation value is
displayed in the viewfinder and the control
panel.

Take the picture.
Note
The exposure compensation setting remains
selected even after the camera is switched off
and on again. After you adjust exposure
compensation for a shooting session, you
must remember to set exposure compensation
to 0 again when you are finished.
Adjusting the flash intensity
The flash intensity cannot be adjusted automatically, but it can be adjusted manually. ( 90)
