Operation
After the NVR300 has been installed, connected to the network, and powered up as discussed in the Installation section, the NVR300 is ready for
operation. (For information about the setup and configuration of devices associated with NVR300 operation, that is, the PelcoNET devices and
the VMX300 video management system, refer to the device-specific documentation.)
This section of the manual provides an overview of the NVR300 user interface and the procedures necessary to perform startup tasks and various
operational tasks associated with the NVR300.
USER INTERFACE OVERVIEW
The user interface to the NVR300 is Web based and is viewed using Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher. Web pages allow you to operate
the NVR300, and links at the top of each Web page (remote access only) allow you to navigate among the various pages. The NVR300 provides
the following Web pages and associated links (refer to Figure 23):
NVR-Playback page, which is the VMX300 and client PC default page and only available remotely. It is accessed by clicking the
NVR-Playback link. (This page is not available locally on the NVR300.)
NVR-Status page, which is the default page for NVR300 local operation and which is accessed by clicking the NVR-Status link. Use the
desktop icon to access this page locally.
NVR-Setup page, which is accessed by clicking the NVR-Setup link. Use the desktop icon to access this page locally.
NVR-Config page, which is accessed by clicking the NVR-Config link. Use the desktop icon to access this page locally.
Table B summarizes the various operations that can be performed using the NVR-Playback, NVR-Status, NVR-Setup, and NVR-Config pages.

†You can perform operations provided by the NVR-Status, NVR-Prog, and NVR-Config pages locally from the NVR300 without interfering
with the recording operation; or you can use the VMX300 or a client PC on the network to perform the operations remotely. There are
shortcuts on the desktop for these functions.
