Recording/Playback
The longer the recording time, the poorer the
image quality.
The camcorder does not perform relay recording
with the memory cards during [SMOOTH
SLOW REC]. If the space on the memory card
is insufficient, the camcorder records movies
only as long as there is space available.
The time of the movie recorded using
[SMOOTH SLOW REC] is recorded after being
converted to slow-motion, not the time when the
movie is actually shot.
Progressive recording is not available for
[SMOOTH SLOW REC]. The progressive
setting is changed to the interlace setting
automatically.
[SMOOTH SLOW REC] is not available when
the recording format of high definition image
quality (HD) is set to 720/50p.
Even if you change the record mode with
[ REC MODE], the record mode of the
standard definition image quality (SD) does not
change.
The camcorder records movies
accompanied by time data, such as time
code and user bit.
Display the setting screen by pressing the
MENU button t select (TC/UB SET)
with the SEL/PUSH EXEC dial.
1 Select [TC PRESET] with the SEL/
PUSH EXEC dial.
2 Select [PRESET] with the SEL/PUSH
EXEC dial.
3 Select the first 2 digits with the SEL/
PUSH EXEC dial.
You can set the time code between
00:00:00:00 and 23:59:59:24.
4 Set other digits by repeating step 3.
5 Select [OK] with the SEL/PUSH EXEC
dial.
To reset the time code
You can reset the time code (00:00:00:00).
Select [RESET] in step 2 of “Presetting
the time code.”
To reset the time code using the
Wireless Remote Commander
You can reset the time code (00:00:00:00)
also by pressing the TC RESET button on
the Wireless Remote Commander.
1 Select [UB PRESET] with the SEL/
PUSH EXEC dial.
2 Select [PRESET] with the SEL/PUSH
EXEC dial.
3 Select the first 2 digits with the SEL/
PUSH EXEC dial.
4 Set other digits by repeating step 3.
5 Select [OK] with the SEL/PUSH EXEC
dial.
To reset the user bit
You can reset the user bit (00 00 00 00).
Select [RESET] in step 2 of “Presetting
the user bit.”
You can synchronize the time code of this
camcorder with the time code of another
camcorder.
The camcorder that generates the time code
must be set to FREE RUN (the time code
advances regardlessly).
1 Set [TC RUN] and [TC MAKE] in
(TC/UB SET) as follows:
[TC MAKE]: [PRESET]
[TC RUN]: [FREE RUN]
2 Set the TC LINK switch of this
camcorder to IN, and connect the TC
LINK IN/OUT jack and the TC OUT
jack of the other camcorder with a
cable.
