Other Settings (Others)
System Message
When the recorder has failed to record a title,
an error message is displayed.
System Information
Displays the system information.
Signal Information
Displays the signal information.
Disk Information
You can check used/remaining space on the
HDD and USB device.
Format Disk
Formats the internal or external HDD to
resolve the problem when the hard disk error
occurred. All of the recorded content on the
HDD will be erased. Enter your four-digit
password and follow the on-screen
instructions.
After formatting the internal or external
HDD, the recorder restarts.

Format an external HDD device only when you
want to copy the titles recorded on this recorder to
the external HDD device for the first time.
Repair Disk
Repairs the HDD to resolve the problem
when the hard disk error occurred. The
recorded content on the HDD will not be
erased. Enter your four-digit password and
follow the on-screen instructions.
After repairing the HDD, the recorder
restarts.
Network
Connect the recorder to the network
beforehand. For details, see “Connecting to
the Network” (page 14).
When you select “Manual,” set the
following items using </M/m/, and the
number buttons:
–IP Address
–Subnet Mask
–Default Gateway
–DNS Server

The network function is used for future
expansion.
Refer also to the instruction manuals that have
been provided by your Internet service provider
or supplied with the router.
Control for HDMI
Diagnostics
Disk
Connection
DHCP Select this when DHCP
(Dynamic Host
Configuration Protocol)
server settings are available
from your Internet service
provider. The network
settings necessary for the
recorder will be assigned
automatically.
Manual Set the IP address manually
according to your network
environment.
On
Allows you to use the “Control
for HDMI” function (page 17).
Off Turns off the function.
