There is no sound.
, Re-connect all connections securely.
, The connecting cable is damaged.
, The input source setting on the audio
component or the connection to the audio
component is incorrect.
, The recorder is in reverse play, fast-
forward, slow motion, or pause mode.
, If the audio signal does not come through
the DIGITAL OUT (COAXIAL)/HDMI
OUT jacks, check the “AV Setting” setup
(page 33).
, When the audio description is not output
from the DIGITAL OUT (COAXIAL)
jack, set “Dolby Digital” to “Off” in the
“AV Setting” setup (page 33).
, The volume is turned off by pressing %.
Press % again to restore the sound.
No sound is output from the HDMI OUT
jack.
, Try the following: 1Turn the recorder off
and on again.
2Turn the connected
equipment off and on again.
3Disconnect
and then connect the HDMI cable again.
, The HDMI OUT jack is connected to a
DVI device (DVI jacks do not accept audio
signals).
, The equipment connected to the HDMI
OUT jack does not conform to the audio
signal format. In this case, set “Dolby
Digital” to “Off” in the “AV Setting” setup
(page 33).
The sound is breaking up.
, The signal strength is low. You can check
the signal strength in “Signal Information”
in the “Diagnostics” setup (page 37).
, Check aerial installation.
, Set the “Audio Description” to “Off” or
adjust the “AD Mixing Level” (page 34).
The programme position cannot be
changed from the programme position
you are recording.
, Set the TV’s input source to “TV.”
Nothing was recorded even though you
set the timer setting correctly.
, There was a power failure during
recording.
, The channel was erased after the timer
recording was set. See “Edit Channel List”
in the “Edit Channel” setup (page 36).
, The mains lead was disconnected.
, The programme contains copy protection
signals (pay-per-view) that restrict
copying, or a scrambled channel is
selected.
, Check “System Information” in the
“Diagnostics” setup (page 37).
, More than two timer settings are
overlapped (page 23).
, There is not enough disc space for the
recording.
Recording does not stop after you press
x.
, Press x REC STOP.
Timer recording is not complete or did
not start from the beginning.
, There was a power failure during
recording. If the power recovers when
there is a timer recording, the recorder
resumes recording but the resumed
recording is stored as another title.
