The center of the screen will be magnified to help you focus more
easily. You can also turn off this function with the [Focus
Assistance] setting.
4 Adjust ( ) the focus as required.
•If you wish to focus on faraway subjects such as mountains or
fireworks, push the joystick ( ) toward and hold it pressed down
until [MF] changes to .
5 Push the joystick ( ) to hide the joystick guide.
•The selected focus will be locked.
•During focus lock, press twice to return the camcorder to
autofocus.
Face Detection
The camcorder automatically detects people’s faces and uses this
information to select the optimal settings for beautiful videos and pho-
tos. When there are a number of people in the picture, one person (with
the white face frame) will be determined to be the main subject. You
can also select the main subject manually, so the camcorder optimizes
the settings for the person selected.
POINTS TO CHECK
Select a recording program other than [ Night Scene], [ Low Light]
or [ Fireworks].
1 Open ( ) the joystick guide.
2 Select ( ) [ Face Detection].
By default, face detection is activated ( ). If the function was turned
off, press to turn it on.
