Shooting Features
Adjusting Brightness (Exposure Compensation)
You can adjust overall image brightness.
Select the compensation value by
rotating the exposure compensation
dial.
To brighten the image, set a positive (+) value.
To darken the image, set a negative (–) value.
When set to a value other than “0“, the
exposure compensation dial mark turns on
when shooting.
C Exposure Compensation Value
If the exposure compensation value is set to a
value other than 0.0 when the shooting mode is
D (manual) mode, the exposure is not
compensated and the standard value of exposure
indicator will change.
When the shooting mode is Fireworks show
scene mode (A42), exposure compensation
cannot be used.
When the exposure compensation is set while using a flash, the compensation is
applied to both the background exposure and to the flash output.
C Exposure Compensation During Movie Recording
The range of exposure compensation values that can be set is between –2 and +2.
Once recording starts, the compensation value cannot be changed.
If the exposure compensation value is set to a value other than 0.0 when Shooting
mode (A96) of the movie custom setting is Manual, the exposure is not
compensated and the standard value of the exposure indicator will not change
either.
