from 0101 to 9900, and stored on the SD card in folders containing up to
100 files. Folders are numbered from 101 to 998. You can select the file
numbering method to be used but using the default [Continu.] setting is
recommended.
1 Open the [File Numbering] submenu.
mode: [w Other Functions] > [Photos] > [File Numbering]
mode: [w Other Functions] > [File Numbering]
2 Select the desired option and then press the joystick.

NOTES
The file number indicates the name and location of the file on the SD card. For example, the file of a photo
numbered 101-0107 is "IMG_0107.jpg" and it can be found in the "DCIM\101CANON" folder, while the file of
an SD movie numbered 101-0108 is "MVI_0108.mpg"and it is stored in the same folder.
Operating modes:
[Reset]: File numbers will restart from 101-0101 every time you insert a new SD card. If an SD card already
contains photos or SD movies, file numbers will continue from the number following that of the last photo
or SD movie on the SD card.
[Continu.]: File numbers will continue from the number following that of the last photo recorded or SD movie
converted with the camcorder. However, if the SD card you insert already contains photos or SD movies,
file numbers will continue from the number following that of the last photo or SD movie on the SD card.
This setting is the most convenient for managing files on a computer.
