Appendix: Menu Options Lists
•This function is available only when the shooting mode is set to ,
ƒ or .
When the shooting mode is set to N or 9, [Zoom Type] will auto-
matically be set to [ Optical].
When 1 > p > [Wide Attachment] is set to [i On],
[Digital] (K only: [ Digital]) is not available.
[È Powered IS]:
With Powered IS you can make the image stabiliza-
tion even more powerful. Powered IS is most effective for shooting far-
away non-moving subjects from a stationary position.
•This function is available only when the shooting mode is set to ,
ƒ or .
Turning off the camcorder will deactivate the Powered IS function.
[z Pre REC]: When this function is activated, the camcorder automat-
ically starts recording 3 seconds before you press Y so you
do not miss important shooting opportunities.
When the shooting mode is set to 9, [z Pre REC] will automatically
be set to [ON] and pre-recording cannot be deactivated.
The camcorder will not record the full 3 seconds prior to pressing
Y if the button was pr
essed wit
hin 3 seconds of having
turned on pre-recording or having finished the previous recording.
Any of the following actions will deactivate the pre-recording function.
- Leaving the camcorder without any operation for 5 minutes.
- Turning off the camcorder, pressing ], changing the shooting
mode, etc.
- Activating video snapshot or the slow & fast recording mode.
- Opening the 0 > [3 Recording Setup] > [Movie Format],
[Video Quality] or [Recording Media] screen.
