Appendix 7: Replacing the Hard Drive
The system comes with a pre-installed, security-grade 3.5" SATA Hard Drive, however the unit
will work with a replacement single SATA Hard Drive (up to 1 TB).
NOTE: Make sure that the system is OFF and the power cable has been disconnected before
changing the Hard Drive.
Replacing the Hard Drive
To replace the current hard drive:
1. Remove the four screws on the side panles and three screws on the rear panel. Carefully
remove the metal housing.
2. Disconnect the power and data cables from the hard drive. Press the metal clip on each
cable and gently pull.
3. Remove the four screws holding the hard drive into the drive bracket.
4. Place the new drive on the drive bracket and replace the four screws. Make sure the
connector pins are facing toward the cables.
5. Reconnect the power and data cables. The metal clip on each cable should be facing up.
Press the metal clip and gently push the cable until you hear a “click.”
6. Replace the metal housing and secure with the three screws on the rear panel and four
screws on the side panels.
Press the metal clip and gently pull each cable.
