Basic Scanner Operations

• Auto Color Detection (Automaticaly recognize each document color)
ScanSnap automatically recognizes whether the document to scan is colored or
black-and-white and switches the scan mode accordingly.
• Color
Scans the document in the color mode.
This setting is ideal for scanning colored documents.
• B&W
Scans the document in the B&W mode.
This setting is ideal for scanning black-and-white documents containing mostly
text. File sizes can also be kept smaller at the B&W setting compared to the color
mode.
■ SCAN button:
Specifies the scanning mode that is launched when pressing the [SCAN] button on
the scanner.
Select [Duplex Scan] or [Simplex Scan] from the menu.
■ [Option...] button
With this item you can configure other scanning related settings.
Clicking the [Option...] button displays the following screen.
HINT
Normally, set this setting item to "Auto Color Detection".
If this seting is specified, there is no need to change the color mode each
time you scan a document.
Please be noted that the color of the followings may be judged as black
and white:
- Faintly-toned paper
- Document which have a colored portion
To scan such documents in color, select "Color" at "Color mode".
