Setting the Exposure
ƈ Choose the part of the screen to use for measuring brightness and determining exposure.
(Multi-segment metering), (Center-weighted metering) or (Spot metering) mode can
be selected. The default setting is (Multi-segment metering).
ƃ The center-weighted metering mode is automatically set even if you select the multi-segment
metering mode when using a lens other than the D-XENON, D-XENOGON lens (can only be
used if permission is set in [Use Aperture Ring] in the [CUSTOM2 MENU] menu). (p.142)
ƃ You can link the exposure and AF point in the focusing area during multi segment metering.

ƈ The scene in the viewfinder is metered in 16 different zones as
shown in the illustration when using the multi-segment metering.
This mode automatically determines what level of brightness is in
which portion.

Segment the screen in 16 parts, meter each portion and determine
the appropriate exposure.
Measure the entire screen with an emphasis on the center and
determine the exposure.
Measure only the center of the screen and determine exposure.
