None uf the functions except cassette
ejectiuu will work. lEject the cassette, turn
off your camcorder, and leave it for about
one hour with the cassette lid open. Your
camcorder carl be used again when both of
the following conditions are met:
• Tile warning messagedoesnot appearwhen the
power is turnedon.
• Neither [] or A flashwhen acasselte is inserted
and video operation buttonsaretouched.
If moisture starts to condense, your
camcorder sometimes cannot detect
condensation. If this happens, tile cassette is
sometimes not _iected li)r 10seconds after
the cassette lid is opened. This is riot a
malRmctiuu. Do not close tile cassette lid
until tile cassette is ejected.
N Noteon moisturecondensation
Moisture may condense when you bring
your camcorder from a cold place into a
warlu phlce (or vice versa) or when you use
your camcorder in a humid place as shown
below.
• When you bringyour camcorder liom a ski
slope intoa place warmed up by a beating
dcvice.
• When you bringyour camcorder liom an air
conditioned cal or roominto ahot placeoutside.

N Howtoavoid moisturecondensation
When you bring your camcorder from a
cold place into a warm place, put your
camcorder in a plastic bag and seal it
tightly. Remove tile bag wile)) tile air
temperature inside the plastic bag has
reached tile surrounding temperature (after
about onehour).
Videohead
If you play back a tape recorded in HDV
format, the image and sound may lheeze lk_r
a while (about 0.5 seconds).
This occurs if tile HDV signals cannot be
recurded or played back correctly because
uf dirt on the tape or vide() head. Depending
uu the cassette, this fairly infrequently
occurs even if the cassette is brand new or
is not used a lot.
If this lheezing point is created while
playing back, you can solve this problem
and see the pictures by rewinding afler
slightly forwarding. Such a freezing point
cannot be recovered if it was created while
recording.
To prevent such a problem, use the Sony
mini DV cassette. It is recommended you
use a cleaning cassette (optional) befure
recording anything important.
If the lollowing problem occurs, clean tile video
beads li)r 10 seconds with the Sony DVM-
12CLD cleaning casseue !optional).
Playback picturcs do not move.
Playback pictures do not appear.
The sound breaks ollL
[_g'_ Dirty video bead. Use a cleaning

recording.
