The print cartridges
may not be
properly
calibrated.
Windows PC
Go to the Device Services tab of the HP
Photosmart Toolbox and click
Calibrate the Printer.
Macintosh
Go to the Calibrate panel in the HP
Inkjet Utility and click Align.
Print quality is poor.

You may be
printing in Reserve
Mode. The printer
enters Reserve
Mode when one or
two of the print
cartridges is
missing.
Replace the missing print cartridge(s) with
a new one.
You are printing in
Reserve Mode with
only the black print
cartridge installed
and borderless
printing turned on.
Replace the missing print cartridges, or
turn off borderless printing. For more
information on printing in Reserve Mode,
see use reserve mode on page 9.
You may have
enlarged the photo
too much.
Press the Z
OOM
button one or more times
to reduce the magnification.
The print cartridge
may be running out
of ink.
Print a diagnostic page.
OR
Windows PC
Check the ink levels of the print
cartridges from the Estimated Ink Level
tab of the HP Photosmart Toolbox.
Macintosh
Check the ink level status in the HP
Inkjet Utility.
If the print cartridge is running out of ink,
replace the print cartridge.
