Transferring Data to PC
There are several ways to transfer the data recorded on this DVD camcorder to PC.
When using the PC connection software
Using the PC connection software, you can utilize stills recorded on this DVD
camcorder, on Windows 98 PC (note 1).
Utilizing recorded stills:
This DVD camcorder records two types of still on disc: stills (MPEG2 704 x 480 pixels)
to be viewed on TV and stills (JPEG 1280 x 960 pixels) to be used on PC. You can use
the PC connection software to transfer PC stills to PC.
Note 1: There are numerous types of PC, including those assembled by individual
persons. For information on whether the PC connection software can be used with
your PC, refer to "Conditions in which PC connection software can be used" on the
next page.
Cautions:
Only IBM PC/AT compatible PCs with Windows 98 installed can be used with the PC connection
software. Read following "Conditions in which PC connection software can be used" carefully.
When this DVD camcorder is connected to the USB terminal of PC, it will be recognized as an external
DVD-RAM drive of PC. Data will be writable and readable on this DVD camcorder as the external DVD-
RAM drive, but Hitachi does not guarantee these operations.
PCs with DVD-RAM drive, DVD-ROM drive
If PCs are provided with DVD-RAM/ROM drive that conforms to 4.7 GB DVD-RAM
disc and 8-cm disc and with the UDF2.01 compatible file system preinstalled, the
data recorded on this DVD camcorder can be read on such PCs, by inserting the disc
removed from cartridge into the drive.
Utilizing recorded stills:
Stills are stored on disc as JPEG images (1280 x 960 pixels): Play them using an
application that is compatible with JPEG image.
