If everything is functioning correctly, the green LEDs 1 and 3 (see “Indicators
on the hot-plug power supply units” on page 66) at the rear of the power
supply unit will now light up.
8.1.2 Replacing hot-plug CPU fans
The server has two pairs of redundant hot-plug CPU fan (2+2). Each pair of fans
is mounted in a fan module that is accessible from the front of the server.
A possible fan fault is reported by the CSS indicator lighting up on the front and
rear of the server or displayed on the ServerView Local Service Display (for
more information about the behavior of these indicators, see chapter “Starting
up and operation” on page 55 and the "Customer Self Service (CSS)" manual
on the ServerBooks DVD).
A CPU fan failure is reported by the CSS indicator flashing on the front and rear
of the server or displayed on the ServerView Local Service Display (for more
information about the behavior of these indicators, see chapter “Starting up and
operation” on page 55 and the "Customer Self Service (CSS)" manual on the
ServerBooks DVD). The fan failure is also reported by the indicator on the fan
module in question (see “Indicator on the fan modules” on page 61).
