Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting
If you run into any problems using your
camcorder, use the following table to
troubleshoot the problem. If the problem
persists, disconnect the power source and
contact your Sony dealer.

The power does not turn on.
Attach a charged battery pack to the
camcorder (p. 15).
e plug of the AC Adaptor has been
disconnected from the wall outlet (wall
socket). Connect it to the wall outlet (wall
socket) (p.
15).
Set the camcorder onto the Handycam
Station securely (p.
15).
The camcorder does not operate even
when the power is set to on.
It takes a few seconds for your camcorder
to be ready to shoot aer the power is
turned on. is is not a malfunction.
Disconnect the AC Adaptor from the wall
outlet (wall socket) or remove the battery
pack, then reconnect it aer about 1
minute. If the functions still do not work,
press RESET (p.
106) using a pointed
object (If you press RESET, all settings,
including the clock setting, are reset.).
Buttons do not work.
During Easy Handycam operation (p. 22),
the following buttons/functions are not
available.
(back light) button (p. 29)
CAMERA CONTROL dial (p. 30)
Playback zoom (p. 34)
To turn on and o the LCD backlight
(Pressing and holding DISP/BATT INFO
for a few seconds) (p.

The (OPTION) is not displayed.
e OPTION MENU cannot be used
during Easy Handycam operation.
The menu settings have changed
automatically.
During Easy Handycam operation, nearly
all the menu items will be automatically set
to the default settings.
For some menu items such as [ IMAGE
SIZE], the setting before entering the Easy
Handycam operation is maintained during
the Easy Handycam operation.
During Easy Handycam operation, some
menu items are xed as follows.
[REC MODE] : [HD SP] or [SD SP]
[FRAME SETTING] : [ON]
[DATA CODE] : [DATE/TIME]
Some Easy Handycam settings are
maintained aer Easy Handycam operation
is canceled.
e following menu items return to the
default settings when you set the POWER
switch to OFF (CHG) for more than 12
hours.
