Warning messages
CLOCK SET Set the date and time (p. 29).
FOR “InfoLITHIUM” Use an “InfoLIHIUM” battery pack (p. 26).
BATTERY ONLY
CLEANING CASSETTE The video heads are dirty (p. 292).
The x indicator and “ CLEANING CASSETTE“ message appear
one after another on the screen.
COPY INHIBIT You tried to record a picture that has a copyright control signal
(p. 283).*
FULL The cassette memory is full (p. 141).*
16BIT AUDIO MODE is set to 16BIT.* You cannot dub new sound (p. 251).
REC MODE REC MODE is set to LP.* You cannot dub new sound (p. 251).
TAPE There is no recorded portion on the tape.* You cannot dub new
sound.
“i.LINK” CABLE i.LINK cable is connected.* You cannot dub new sound (p. 138).
FULL The “Memory Stick” is full (p. 164).*

The write-protect switch on the “Memory Stick” is set to LOCK
(p. 149).*
NO FILE No image is recorded on the “Memory Stick.”*
NO MEMORY STICK No “Memory Stick” is inserted.*
NO STILL IMAGE FILE You select MULTI in 9PIC PRINT in the menu settings using a
“Memory Stick” containing no still image.*
AUDIO ERROR You are trying to record an image with sound that cannot be
recorded by your camcorder on “Memory Stick” (p. 184).*
MEMORY STICK ERROR The “Memory Stick” data is corrupted.*
FORMAT ERROR The “Memory Stick” is not recognized (p. 151, 250).*
Check the format.
- DIRECTORY ERROR There is more than two same directories (p. 195).*
PLAY ERROR The image is distorted and cannot be played back.*
REC ERROR Check the input signal, then record again.*
Q Z TAPE END The tape has reached the end of the tape.*
Q NO TAPE Insert a cassette tape.*
NO PRINT MARK You selected MARKED in 9PIC PRINT in the menu settings using a
