USB Interface
Using the USB Streaming Function
+ Touse USB streaming, the DV Driver,Video Codec, DirectX 9.0. programs must be installed inthe PC.
+ Youcan view Camcorder video on your PC using USB streaming.
+ Youcan also store it as a moving picture inthe "avi"file format, oras a still image inthe "jpg" file format on a PC.
1. Setthe Power switch to CAMERA or PLAYER, set the Mode switch to TAPE.
2. Connect one end of the USBcable to the USBjack on the Camcerder and the other end to the USB jack on your computer.
3. Setup and execute Windows Movie Maker orthe UleadVIDEO Studio Software application provided onthe CD.
For detailed instructionsfor Ulead VIDEO Studio use, refertothe program's Help function.
Windows Movie Maker is used for WINDOWS ME and XP users. (C:\program files\Movie maker\meviemk.exe)
Using the removable Disk Function
+ Youcan easily transfer data from a Memory cardto a PC without additional add-on cards via a USB connection.
1. Setthe Power switch to CAMERA or PLAYER, set the Mode switch to MEMORY.
2. Connect one end of the USBcable to the USBjack on the Camcerder and the other end to the USB jack on your computer.
3. To verify whether the removable disk hasbeen properly recognized, open Windows Explorerand locatethe removabledisk.
Connecting to a PC
1. Connect a USB cableto the USBjack onthe PC.
• If a USB cable is connected to the Camcorder's USB jack, nothing is displayedon aTV.
2. Connect the other end of the USBcable intothe USB jack on the Camcerder.
• If a PC is connected tothe Camcorder witha USB cable only,Zoom switch and Mode
switch operate.
Disconnecting the USB Cable
+ After completing the datatransmission, you must disconnectthe cable in thefollowing way:
1. Selectthe removable disc icon and clickthe rightmouse buttonto select [Eject].
2. Select [Confirm]and disconnect the USBcable when the Windows Splash screen appears.

• Ifyou disconnect the USBcable from the PC or the Camcerder whiletransferring, the data transmission will stop andthe datamay be
damaged.
• Ifyou connect the USBcable to a PCvia a USB HUB or simultaneouslyconnect the USBcable along withother USB devices, the
Camcorder may net work properly.
Ifthis occurs, remove all USBdevices from the PC and reconnect the Camcerder,
