LAN Settings for Connecting to a DVD Recorder with DVR
Use this procedure to connect the camera to a DVD recorder with DVR via a LAN (see
“Glossary” p.198). Before you connect the camera to the DVD recorder with DVR, you
must specify the LAN settings on the camera. Note that the settings differ depending on
the connection method used.
Supported DVD Recorders with DVR
You can only connect DVD recorders equipped with the Toshiba “Net Dubbing” function.
Settings for Connecting the Camera to a DVD Recorder with
DVR via an Existing Network
CAMERA NAME
: Enter the name used to identify the camera on the network. You can
enter any name you like, or you can simply use the default name. The
name can consist of up to 15 half-pitch alphanumeric characters.
GROUP NAME
: Enter the name given as the “GROUP NAME” for the DVD recorder
with DVR. To find the “GROUP NAME” for the DVD recorder with DVR,
refer to the instruction manual supplied with the DVD recorder with
DVR. (The name for “GROUP NAME” may differ depending on the
recorder used.)
Because the password field is blank by default, you must enter a
password. The password can consist of up to 16 half-pitch
alphanumeric characters.
PASSWORD
: Enter the name given as the “GROUP PASSWORD” for the DVD
recorder with DVR. To find the “GROUP PASSWORD” for the DVD
recorder with DVR, refer to the instruction manual supplied with the
DVD recorder with DVR. (The name for “GROUP PASSWORD” may
differ depending on the recorder used.)
Because the password field is blank by default, you must enter a
password. The password can consist of up to 16 half-pitch
alphanumeric characters.
IP CONFIG:DHCP (recommended) (see “Glossary” p.197)
If you cannot connect using the above settings, set [IP CONFIG] to [MANUAL] and
then specify the settings given below.
IP ADDRESS
: Set a different address within the same subnet and the connected
network settings.
E.g. Where the router address is 192.168.1.1, the camera address
can be 192.168.1.6 or 192.168.1.20, etc.
Ensure that you do not set the same IP address (see “Glossary”
p.197) as another device.
NETMASK : Set the subnet mask (see “Glossary” p.198) for the connected
network.
255.255.255.0 (recommended)
ROUTER : Enter the IP address of the router (see “Glossary” p.197).
To find the router’s IP address, refer to the instruction manual supplied
with the router.
