Unpacking the Matrix X4-C Chassis
TheMatrixX4‐Cchassisispackedandshippedonaskid.Beforeunpackingthechassis,examine
theoutsidepackagingforobviousdamage.TounpacktheMatrixX4‐Cchassis,refertothe
followingfigureswhichillustratedisassemblyandincludenumbersthatcorrespondtothesteps
below.Proceedasfollows:
1. With
aboxcutter,cutthetwoshippingstrapsfasteningthecorrugatedboxtotheskid,as
showninFigure 3‐1.
2. Liftandremovetheshippingboxfromtheskid.

3. Removeandsavetheracksupportbrackets,accessorypackage,documents,cableandother
equipmentfromthetopofthestyrofoamcap,as
showninFigure 3‐2onpage 3‐3.Accessories
andpackingequipmentinclude:
–ElectrostaticDischarge(E SD)wriststrap
– Racksupportbrackets
– Installationdocumentation
–Screwassemblies
–RJ45managementcable
4. Liftandremovethestyrofoamcapfromthetopofthechassis.Saveforreshipping,if
necessary.
Note: Unpack the Matrix X4-C chassis components only as needed. Leave the components in their
respective shipping cartons until you are ready to install that component. Save all shipping
materials in the event you must repack the chassis.
